What Mary's Clients Say I tried Cranio-Sacral Therapy originally 2 years ago because of a recurring problem with my lower back. As a result of a combination of falls and injuries over the years my lower spinal column has become weakened. This at times caused my whole back to go into spasm. When this happened the pain was almost unbearable, work, sitting, standing, walking, sleeping became almost impossible. Anti-inflammatories and pain -killers are not for me! What is involved in a CranioSacral Session?
A typical first Craniosacral session begins with Mary taking a note of your medical background including accidents and any medicines that you might currently be on, including vitamin and mineral supplements. Mary will then talk you through what will happen during your first session as it is highly individualised to each person. Cranial sacral therapy is non-invasive but it is best to wear loose fitting and comfortable clothes. You will be asked to remove your footwear.
As Craniosacral is hands-on treatment you will lie on a plinth and Mary will typically begin with your feet and work her way up the body depending on your particular requirements. You will receive treatment that is personal to your needs. The majority of people find the experience to be a completely relaxing experience.
What is involved in a Reiki Session?
For your initial Reiki session Mary will ask you to lie down on the treatment table. If lying down is difficult then Mary can conduct your treatment with you in a seated position or even standing. You should wear loose and comfortable clothing. Throughout your Reiki session Mary will delicately lay her hands on, or just over, various parts of your body. You may experience a mild and pleasant tingling in the part of the body being treated. In some cases clients have reported to Mary a sensation of a healing heat in the problem area. Most of Mary's clients complete their Reiki session feeling deeply relaxed.

Athlone Complementary Therapist Mary Conlon - in her Own Words
I was drawn to complementary therapies when my daughter at just six weeks old was diagnosed with both eczema and asthma. For a number of years she attended many traditional doctors and specialists. Despite trying a large number of different treatments and drugs she only ever received brief respite. After a time I began to explore complementary therapies I came upon Cranio Sacral therapy. When my daughter was nine she had four Cranial Sacral sessions. Very quickly there was a major and obvious improvement with her skin. Flare-ups occurred less and less over time. Seeing these results in my own daughter I quickly became hooked on finding out more about this wonderful treatment and I subsequently went on to study Cranio Sacral therapy.
My daughter is now twenty years of age and her skin is now clear for 99% of the time. While it can flare up at times of stress she has not had to use any of the cortisone creams since her very first Cranio Sacral session.
I have being working in the area of complementary therapies since 2004 and I have studied CranioSacral therapy, Reiki and Bio Testing Therapy in order to gain as much knowledge for the treatment of my clients. I continue to attend professional courses and workshops regularly in order to up to date with modern developments in the world of complementary therapies.
